How to Cure Candida in 6 Steps
Hey, guys. Axe here, of functionalmedicine and founder of DrAxe . Today I'm going to share with you the exact diet, treatmentand supplements you need to take the clear Candida from your body. And this is what Ireally consider to be my SixStep Candida Cure Diet Protocol. And you're going to seeamazing results with this protocol. And let me say this first, what is Candida?Candida is the overgrowth of yeast and bad bacteria in your body and it can cause somemajor symptoms that you want to get rid of. And so some of the symptoms of Candida caninclude any type of fatigue issue. If you struggle with chronic fatigue or adrenal fatigue, those can be related to Candida.
Any type of leaky gut issue. Leaky gut isintestinal permeability, where proteins like gluten can leak through your gut and causeinflammation of your body. So if you have food sensitivities or if you have digestiveissues like gas and bloating, also if you have any problem related to the thyroid, thosecan be warning signs you have Candida. Also if you get yeast in your body. If younotice, let's say, yeast or whiteness on your tongue or if you ever get chronic yeast infectionsor coming down with the cold and flu often, those can be warning signs that you have Candida. And, of course, also with Candida any sort of other digestive issues, like irritablebowel syndrome or chronic diarrhea or constipation
or even acid reflux, those are warning signsthat you might have Candida. And last but not least, is a sluggish metabolism. If you aren't losing weight and burning fat like you know you should be, those are warningsigns you could have Candida, along with actually even bad breath and lack of detoxification. Those are some major warning signs. So here are the six things you need to do to eliminateCandida fast. Number one, you need to stop consuming somuch sugar. Now, I know that's obvious. That's something that I think most of us realizeis that sugar feeds yeast in your body. But again, you have got to get rid of processedsugar, fruit juices, any sort of added sugar
to any sort of product sweetener. Even mostpackaged products and fast foods are also high in sugar. Even things like pasta saucesand crackers, you'd be surprised, but sugar is added to almost everything. So again, eliminate especially the processedsugar out of your diet. As a replacement, I recommend using a little bit of Stevia, which is a nocalorie natural sweetener and then about one to three teaspoons a day ofmanuka honey. Okay? Those are the sweeteners you should be using if you have Candida. Number two. You need to eliminate grains fromyour diet. Why? Because grains turn into sugar
and they also tend to be more inflammatory. And so again, getting those grains out of your diet, especially wheat products and glutencontaininggrains, that's step number two. Instead, do a lot more vegetables and maybe some starchycarbs. Number three thing you have to do to clearCandida from you system, is support your spleen. Now, this is cuttingedge information thata lot of people don't realize. And this is a practice in Ancient China that is oftenused by acupuncturists today. But they have found that the number one cause of Candidais a weakened spleen. And so if you have spleen issues, and spleen is responsible for digestionof the body, producing red blood cells in
your system. And so the spleen is a very importantorgan. In order to support the spleen, there area couple things you need to do. But really the spleen is supported by starchy foods, especially squash, things like sweet potatoes, butternut squash, and also even doing certaintypes of beans like lentils and mung beans. So again, getting some of those good starchycarbs. And that's really where your sweetness shouldcome from. A little bit of butternut squash, acorn squash, foods like that that has thatmild sweetness. That's the only sweet you should be really getting in your diet. Again, with no processed sugar and, again, very low
Warning Signs That Youre Zinc Deficient
Hey guys, Axe here from draxe . Today,I'm going to share with you the five warning signs that you're zinc deficient. Zinc deficiencyis something that's very common and can cause a number of health issues. Let me say this as well, I estimate about75% of people out there today are deficient in zinc. Here are the five warning signs thatyou are zinc deficient. Also at the end of this tutorial I'll talk about my top five zincrichfoods you should be getting in and what to look for in a zinc supplement. Number one warning sign that you have a zincdeficiency is if you're immune compromised.
If you tend to get sick frequently, if youhave immune system issues, if you've ever come down with any sort of chronic allergiesor anything like that, that's a big warning sign that you are zinc deficient. So again, if you're immune compromised, ifyou get sick often or you're always that person that gets sick, that is a major warning sign. Also, if you've had any other disease related to immunodeficiency, that's a warning signyou're zinc deficient. Number two warning sign you're zinc deficientis if you have leaky gut. Leaky gut is a condition where proteins can leak through the gut andcause systemic inflammation, and that's also
relate to food allergies, thyroid problems, adrenal fatigue. But number two warning sign that you are zincdeficient is if you have leaky gut and you have malabsorption, you're not digesting yournutrients well. Number three warning sign you're zinc deficientis if you struggle with diarrhea, if you ever have loose stools. That's where, again, yourstools aren't firmly formed in the toilet. That's a big warning sign that you're zincdeficient. Also if you have inflammatory bowel disease, like irritable bowel syndrome, any of those issues whatsoever, even gas and bloating. Those are warning signs you are zinc deficient.
Number four warning sign is thinning hairor losing your hair. If you have thin hair or are losing your hair, zinc is an essentialmineral that really supports thicker hair growth and also just supports your body growingand repairing and healing. Number five warning sign you're zinc deficientis you have any sort of inflammatory skin issue, especially acne, eczema, dermatitis,or psoriasis. All of those are warning signs that you are zinc deficient. There are other warning signs, but I wantto talk about what people are most deficient in zinc and what causes a zinc deficiency. One of the biggest things that causes a zinc
deficiency is high levels of emotional stress. If you are emotionally stressed out, overtime your body has to utilize zinc and that mineral to heal and repair the body, to repairthe brain, to repair the skin, to repair your organs. Zinc is a reparative mineral thatactually is even critical for protein synthesis and utilization in your body. So if you havehad, let's say, a loss in the family or a very stressful job, and you're not sleepingenough, any of those things, that is a big cause of zinc deficiency. The second most common cause of zinc deficiencyis over exercise. Triathletes, marathon runners,
and CrossFit athletes are some of the peoplethat are most susceptible to a zinc deficiency. So again, if you work out a lot and maybeeven have overworked out in the past that can cause zinc deficiency. The third mostcommon reason you're zinc deficient is if you're pregnant or breastfeeding. Obviouslywhen you're eating for two that can cause mineral deficiencies, and so again, that cancause a zinc deficiency. Last but not least, typically aging womenor elderly, they tend to have malabsorption, so they don't absorb zinc well, so they tendto have a zinc deficiency as something that can happen. So if you're going to get morezinc in your diet, a few things need to happen.
Case Study 20 Eric Bakker Chronic Candida Yeast Infection
I'm going to do another case history, andthis is going to be my case history. It's going to be quite different. This is a 25yearoldguy called Eric Bakker. In 1986, he was just turning 26. So this is my own personal story. You might like to hear my personal story on how I came to really develop a burning passionfor helping people like you out there with Candida. You may like to hear my own personal story about the yeast infection I used to have whenI was in my 20s. I used to live by myself in a small house in a place called Brisbanein Australia, and this little house was in a suburb that was prone to flooding. It wascheap rent, and I was working in a flourmill
at the time. I'd been living on my own forabout five years at that point. One week I would work the day shift. One week I'd workthe afternoon shift. And the following week, I would work the night shift.I started to feel increasingly stressed and tired and one winter developed a bad cough. It got worse to the point where I took an antibiotic. My little house was cold and damp, and I had to bail water out of my bedroom after it rained heavily. I did tell you itwas cheap rent. The walls were covered in a thin, moist film that I later discoveredwas mold. My diet wasn't the best at times. I was craving sweet foods, take out, and lotsof bread. Either my bowels were blocked or
I was experiencing diarrhea and lots of gas.I felt terrible, and my health was going downhill fast. My skin started to get itchy and I developeda bad case of athlete's foot and jock itch. To give you a background on all this, a fewyears prior, I had 13 amalgam fillings replaced over a period of two weeks in 1983. I startedto notice that my health was beginning to deteriorate and by early '85, I was feelingincreasingly anxious. I developed skin rashes, athlete's foot, and many manifestations ofa Candida yeast infection, all unbeknown to me at the time, including very strong sweetcravings. I had issues with my girlfriend who thoughtI was a hypochondriac because my health had
deteriorated to the point where I had to seekmedical help. But the was of little help because all the tests results came backnormal, and he wanted me to see a psychiatrist. I knew I wasn't going crazy. I knew that therewas something undermining my health, and I couldn't put a finger on it until I read theYeast Connection by William Crook and then later I read the Missing Diagnosis by Orion Truss. I've read about 50 books since then on Candida, but the first one byCrook was quite a good book. My girlfriend at the time started to doubtme and told me that my problems were all in my head. A view strongly supported by hermother and that I needed to wake up to myself.
See a shrink and take antidepressants. Idecided to end that unsupportive relationship and move out of their flat and had a garagesale a few weekends later to downsize. A naturopath was looking through some of my gear at a garagesale and asked me why I had dark circles under my eyes. I told her about my health and thefirst thing she told me was to get a hair analysis to determine the mercury levels becauseshe thought the mercury fillings being replaced, it could have caused a problem. And she saidthere may be a connection there with that and the Candida.I went to see her and showed her Crook's book, and what she said made a heck of a lotof sense. And I started getting treatment
for my yeast infection. Unfortunately, shedidn't walk me through a proper mercury detoxification, I felt very, very sick, and I had a bad Herxheimerreaction. I had a lot of vomiting and diarrhea for quite a few weeks. And this, in fact, was one of the lowest points in my life. When at one point, I had considered taking my ownlife because I was so unsupported. No one wanted to listen to me. I felt terrible. The told me I was nuts. My mother said I was crazy. My girlfriend didn't listen. Is it any wonder people jump off bridges or do crazy things? If no one is there to listento you at all, all the doors get closed in your face. There's no support at all. What'sthe point in living even? When you're at your
