It was popular particularly because of a book written bya guy called Bruce Fife from 2005. I think it was called quot;Coconut Cure: The Preventionand Treatment of Common Ailments Using Coconut.quot; Fife did many people a huge favor by publishingthis book. When you think about 2005, well, it's 2015, it's only 10 years ago and coconuthas become really a household name with many, many people.I can remember recommending coconut back in the ï¿½80s and ï¿½90s and people thought Iwas nuts. Recommending coconut oil. It's a
saturated fat. It's going to create heartdisease. How stupid recommending this for people. One had a strong disagreementwith me saying, quot;You're nuts giving people coconut oil. You'll get heart disease, heartattacks from it. It causes cancer and bowel problems.quot; And I've discovered this same now many years later is recommending coconut oil, funny how things turn right around. Finally,coconut has been vindicated. Finally now we're seeing it really now as a health food, whereit should be. Coconut oil really is a saturated fat, butit's not an animal, it's a plantbased saturated fat. It's medium chain triglycerides. It containslarge amounts of fatty acids like lauric acid
and Caprylic acid, and these fatty acids havevery good antifungal properties. There's lot of research from many different countriesaround the world now, from England, from American, from Nigeria, from Singapore, all that validatethis as being a very good product to use for fungus, but it also has shown to have antibacterialproperties. Make sure, when you get coconut oil that youdon't get one that's been processed, particularly hydrogenated. A lot of cookies and cheap crappyproducts you'll buy in the supermarket will contain fractioned or very heated up coconutoil, and that itself is very dangerous because you can get a lot of free radical damage.The membranes of the cells are made up of
fats, and when you consume too many of thesehydrogenated fats or fats that have been superheated, you can damage the cell membranes of yourcells. Having a virgin coconut oil, one that's been minimally processed and minimally damaged,you're going to do your body a lot of good taking this product in. There are far toomany properties about coconut oil for me to talk about on this tutorial, but all I can sayto you is make sure that you get a really good quality coldpressed or virgin coconutoil that's minimally processed. Both Bruce Fife, as well as WilliamCrook, who wrote the quot;The Yeast Connectionquot; in the 80s, both of these s recommendedyou start with a small amount of coconut oil
when you consume it. So start maybe with ateaspoon per day and gradually build up until you can take up to three tablespoons per dayand you watch what happens. People with severe Candida may get quite ill if they increasethe dosage too soon. If you've got major jock itch or major vaginal thrush, major intestinalbloating and gas, lots of skin problems, lots of brain fog, please start slowly on a teaspoonper day for two to three weeks. Gradually build up in that two to three week perioduntil you can take a tablespoon per day. When you can hit a tablespoon per day in say twoor three weeks, then you can slowly increase until you can hit two tablespoons per day.Don't be in a hurry. That's what I'm trying
to say to you. Take your time.Coconut oil is also wonderful to use around the private areas for a lubricant. I recommendpeople massage it around their feet, even in their scalp, around their ears. It's fantasticfor psoriasis. It's great for eczema. It's a great moisturizer for the skin in general.It's a supremely good oil to take for many different reasons and it smells divine. It'snice in smoothies, too. With some pure vanilla essence and some blueberries, you put a bitof coconut oil in there. You can use it in coconut flour in cooking. Hey guys, Axe here. Today, I'm going toshow you how to do oil pulling, and this is something that's not just a hot, trendy thingright now. This has been done and had major benefitsfor thousands of years. It's used today in India and Asia all the time for your oralhealth. You may be wondering, well what exactly is oil pulling? Oil pulling is taking oil, typically sesameoil, olive oil, or coconut oil, and swishing it back and forth between your teeth. Thehealth benefits are it can actually help heal and cure tooth decay.
It's been shown to help heal bleeding gums.It's been shown to naturally whiten your teeth, strengthen your jaw muscles, and overall cleanseyour mouth and even support weight loss, some people claim. The truth is this, I was talking to a reallywell known dentist recently and he was telling me that, and this is true from all the medicalresearch, that the health of your mouth, the bacteria in your mouth, correlates with thehealth of the rest of your body. So by healing your mouth and improving youroral health you can actually improve the health of your entire body. In fact, periodontaldisease, or gingivitis or bad bacteria buildup
within your mouth, is an indicator that youare at higher risk of heart disease. Again, it's very, very important that you'recleansing not just your body but your oral cavity in your mouth on a regular basis. So here is how you're going to do oil pulling.You're basically going to take two teaspoons of, I like coconut oil. Now, I like coconutoil over other oils because it has antifungal and antimicrobial properties so it will killoff any of that bad bacteria that's in your mouth and also support the growth of goodbacteria.
So you're going to do two teaspoons in yourmouth. You're going to swish it inbetween your teeth. Don't overdo it. You'll make yourmouth sore. Lightly swish it inbetween your teeth for about 10 to 20 minutes. I'm notgoing to do that here on this tutorial, I'm going to do it for about 10 to 20 seconds, but typicallyyou want to do it 10 to 20 minutes. That may seem like a long time but if youdo it while you're in the shower, that's a great time to do it. That'll be five minutesalone. Even if you can do just that five minutes, it is still greatly beneficial. So do it while you're in the shower, do itwhile you're reading at night, you can do
it while you're just kind of getting readyin the morning. But doing oil pulling as I said, doesn't haveto be complicated, about 10 to 20 minutes. Afterwards, you're going to spit out the oilin a cup or in the trashcan and then after that you're going to rinse your mouth outwith water and then, finally, you're going to brush your teeth as normal. So I'm goingto demonstrate here how this would work. And again, you're going to first take here,I'm going to get a big loaded tablespoon or teaspoon here of coconut oil and I'm goingto put it in my mouth, kind of chew on it for a minute and then swish it. I'm goingto do it for about 20 seconds so I guess I'll
have to be quiet here. You can see me chewinghere. It'll melt within about 15 seconds. Now, I'm going to start to swish. Do that for 10 to 20 minutes, spit it out,and then the next thing you're going to do is get some water and swish this inbetweenyour teeth. Finally, you'll brush your teeth as normal. and I guarantee, do this even if it's justfive minutes, ideally 10 to 20, but your mouth will feel so clean. You're killing bad bacteria,you're whitening your teeth, you're getting fresher breath.
