The Candida Spit Test MYTH 11

The Candida Spit Test – MYTH 11Hi, I'm Jeff McCombs, developer of the McCombs AntiCandida Plan for Health, Vitality, and Transformation. Today, I'd like to spend a little time with you and discuss the Candidaspit test. The Candida spit test was promoted as a marketing tool in the mid 90s by a multilevelmarketing company that sold an antiCandida product. It was promoted as a fast, easy, reliable test for people to perform in their homes to validate that they had a fungal Candidainfection. I'd like to explain to you a little bit why that is not a valid test andgive you some more information behind valid testing. To perform the test, you take a glass of water,

first thing in the morning, and spit intoit. If the spit or mucus forms legs, little extensions down into the water, this is asign, supposedly, that you have a Candida infection. Of course, this doesn't differentiatebetween a Candida yeast or a Candida fungal infection. But the truth of the matter isthere are many things which can cause the mucus to thicken to such an extent that itwould form these legs down into the water. A common one is dehydration. Now, if you'vebeen sleeping all night, and your mouth is closed, you haven't been drinking water. When you wake up in the morning, you're gonna be a little dehydrated, so the mucuswill be thicker and form these strands, or

legs, into the water.Other things that can cause the same thickening of the mucus could be airborne allergies, food allergies. You could have a virus, bacteria, yeast, mold, fungal infection, or parasiteinfection. Cold weather can also cause thickening of the mucus, and anybody who has lived ina cold climate can attest to that. Weather changes can also cause thickening of the mucus. So there are a lot of things that can cause thickening of the mucus. If you consider the body burden that most Americans and most people around the worldhold in terms of toxin, there are generally over 1000 different toxins that are in thebody at any time. Each and any one of these

can cause the mucus to thicken. So when we'redoing a Candida spit test, we're not testing for anything, specifically, because thickenedmucus can be a general indicator of many different types of allergic reactions or responses bythe body and its immune system. If you want to do a saliva test, you would do a salivaantibody test. This is a valid test that's performed at a lab. Laboratories like BioHealthDiagnostics, Genova Diagnostics, Diagnostics Labs will perform saliva antibody tests. An antibody is a protein that is produced by our bodies' white cells in response toa substance that is nonhuman, or nonself. This is a way that the body uses to identifythat substance again should reexposure occur

later on.Other valid tests would be blood tests, stool tests, direct cultures of blood or stool oranother tissue. Metametrix Labs does PCR testing, which is a genetic testing that can be withthe stool or blood. Great Plains Laboratories does organic acid testing. This is testingof byproducts of cellular metabolism from Candida. These are all different tests thatcan be performed to evaluate whether or not you have a systemic fungal Candida infection.© Copyright 20102011, All Rights Reserved, Jeffrey S. McCombs, DC Page 86 of 130The best way to use this information is to use several tests in conjunction with eachother, along with a case history, present

signs and symptoms, past history of antibioticuse, and whether or not you've done a Candida protocol and whether it's produced goodresults for you. If you take all this information, combine it together, you're going to geta clearer picture of whether or not you have a Candida infection.I hope you have found this information to be helpful. Is Hair Testing An Accurate Way To Diagnose Candida

Greetings. New Zealand naturopath, Eric Bakker, author of Candida Crusher and I'm the formulator of a range of products called Canxida. Thanksfor tuning in. I got a question here today from a lady called Pauline Berry from Kentin the UK. It's in England. Pauline is asking me if hair testing is valid for Candida diagnosis.Pauline, that's a really good question and it's one I get asked from time to time ifthat is okay. It's an interesting email you're sending me here. You've got lots of differentquestions here regarding testing. Another thing that you point out is about immune testing. You're confused about doing saliva or blood tests regarding immune response to determineCandida. That's not a valid way to determine

if you've got a past or a present Candidainfection because there are many reasons why you can get these inappropriate antibody responsesrelating to Candida infection. Hair testing is very valid when it comes toanalyzing toxic metals in the body and minerals and it's a valid science and there are manydifferent labs around the world that are very expert in determination. A hair tissue mineralanalysis is an excellent science. I've got a lot of friends that are really good in thisparticular field and learning how to read these reports, looking at the potassiumsodiumratios and the zinccopper balances, what kind of levels of mercury a person may havein their body. But when it comes to determining

a yeast infection from hair analysis, to meit's a little bit sort of foreign and bizarre to think that you can actually determine allergicresponses or the presence of microorganisms from hair testing. I mean to me it's almosta little bit like holding one of those little pendulums over an apple to give you a quot;yesquot;or quot;no.quot; quot; Can I eat this food? Yes or no.quot; What a load of crap. What kind of sciencehave we got involved with that? You may as well pull a Ouija board out and start walkingaround the room and asking if there are spirits in the room and junk like this. This is what gives natural practitioners a bad name, I believe, in my opinion. When you'vegot these weird bizarre kinds of testing that

people really actually believe in. While Ihave no doubt there will be valid means of testing, there are also plenty that borderon the sublime to the ridiculous. I really think that hair testing to determine a yeastinfection is a ridiculous notion. The other things in your email, you're askingspecifically about Candida determination from hair testing. Remember when we've got a personwho potentially thinks that he or she has a yeast infection, they may not have a yeastinfection at all. Many people go onto blog sites or on YouTube. They'll actually startlistening or reading information and think, quot;Yeah, that's what I've got.quot; Because of allthe signs and symptoms they've got. But they

may have any one of a hundred different thingsor even a thousand different things. So when you go to a person specifically for a Candidatest determination, it's either going to be a quot;yesquot; or quot;no,quot; and that's not going to giveyou a lot of other information there. It's junk information. It's quite useless.Other testing that is more valid in my opinion, which I've a lot of experience with and canvouch for how well it works in a al sense, is comprehensive stool testing, Pauline,in your situation because of the way you describe all your digestive symptoms. You've got likegas, bloating, constipation one minute and diarrhea the next and you've got headaches, fatigue, joint pain, you've got all these

different symptoms here. And you've been sickfor quite some time. My recommendation is to do a comprehensivedigestive stool test, including parasitology. Three stool samples concurrently on threeseparate days and that's going to give you a huge amount of information. You may nothave Candida. You may have a very low amount of beneficial bacteria, which is very commonthese days. Regardless of how many probiotics you take. You may have all kinds of otherimbalances there. You could have a problem with one of your pancreatic enzymes. It maynot be producing sufficiently. Before you start running off and getting ahair test done for Candida determination,
