Natural Remedies for Ear Infection
Natural Remedies for Ear Infection Ear infections are caused by bacteria or virusesin the middle ear. Ear infections occur more often in children than adults. Some causes and contributing factors thatlead to ear infections are wax buildup, upper respiratory infections, food allergies, environmentalallergies, genetics, nutritional deficiencies and internal injuries. Some common signs that someone is sufferingfrom an ear infection are pain in the ear, tugging at the ear, difficulty sleeping, headache, poor response to sounds, high fever and fluid
draining from the ear. The ear is made up of three parts: outer, middle and inner. An ear infection can occur in any of the three parts. Inner ear infectionsare the most serious. It is important to treat an ear infectionto prevent complications, including damaging or rupturing the ear drum. There are many timehonored, simple and easyhome remedies that can help to get rid of the pain and other symptoms of an ear infection. 1. Salt
Salt is probably the most readily availablehome remedy. Heat up one cup of salt on a pan over lowheat for a few minutes. You can also heat it in a microwave or doubleboiler. Place the hot salt on a cloth and seal theopen end with rubber band (or tie a knot). When it is bearably hot, lay down and putthe cloth on the affected ear for 5 to 10 minutes. Repeat this remedy daily as many times asneeded. The heat generated from the sock will helpdraw out fluid from the ear and relieve swelling
and pain. As an alternative, you can use one cup ofrice in the same manner described above. 2. Garlic Garlic has antimicrobial properties and naturalpain relieving qualities, making it highly effective in the treatment of ear infections. There are a few ways to use garlic as a home treatment. Make garlic oil by cooking two garlic clovesin two tablespoons of sesame oil or mustard oil until it turns blackish.
Strain the solution. When it is bearably hot,use two to four drops of this oil in the infected ear as ear drops. Alternatively, you can also boil two or threefresh garlic cloves in water for five minutes, then crush them and add some salt. Put the mixture in a clean cloth and placeit against the affected ear. Consuming two to three cloves of raw garlicdaily also helps speed up the healing process. 3. Apple Cider Vinegar To get rid of the fungus that may be causingthe ear infection, apple cider vinegar is
a good option. Mix one part apple cider vinegar with an equalamount of water or alcohol. Soak a cotton ball in the solution. Put the cotton ball in your ear like a plugand leave it for about five minutes. Remove the cotton ball and lay down on youropposite side to drain the liquid from the ear. Use a hair dryer to dry your ear as muchas possible. 4. Olive Oil One of the main causes of an ear infectionis wax in the ear catching some fungal or
Jock Itch Causes Symptoms Treatment by Expert Eric Bakker
Hi there, Eric Bakker, naturopath, authorof Candida Crusher. Thank you for tuning into my tutorial today. Today, we're going to talk about men's yeastinfections, particularly jock itch or itch around the men's private parts, around thescrotum, around the penis, around those areas. This is a condition I see quite frequentlyin males. A condition that drives a lot of guys crazy. In fact, I've had two cases inthe last two days. One a 44yearold male not far from where I live here in New Zealandand another guy in his late 40s from Wellington, which is the capital of New Zealand. Bothof these cases are quite similar. This is
going to be quite an interesting tutorial, particularlyfor males who've got itch in their groin region and have had no resolution. Let's start with this 44yearold guy. It'squite an interesting case and many men will be able to relate to this in particular. Thisguy had an itch that started about a year ago, and it just started around his belt line. He's a hydraulic person, so he's an engineer that deals with hydraulics and repairing trucksand things like that. This guy went to his ; he had a bitof an itch around the belt line, which quickly spread to the groin region. The hada look at this skin rash and did a biopsy
and said, quot; You've got contact dermatitis.quot; He sent this man away with a bunch of creams. I've just made some case notes here. Thispatient came back to the in three weeks and the condition was not improved. So the patient got sent to a skin specialist, called a dermatologist. The patient then got told by the dermatologist it was scabies, which is a mite infection. Again, more creams were prescribed. And again, the same thing, patient came back to the specialist, wasn't going away with the creams, this time wentto another specialist. And this specialist said it was psoriasis.Quite interesting. This gave strong
drugs, steroids, which really knocked thepatient around quite a lot. The patient improved but wasn't interested in taking steroids andthe patient then went to another . This is number four now. And this said, quot; You've got a fungal skin rash.quot; Finally, we got the correct diagnosis. But what didthe do? He put this man on antibiotics, which I find quite interesting. Antibioticsare not something one would generally give for a fungal rash that he or she has diagnosedas a fungal rash. They will normally give an antifungal drug, but in this case, the decided to give a penicillin based antibiotic. And the condition exploded andnow it went all over his torso, upper back,
neck, around the ears, scalp, all over. I'll call him Gary. Gary said a few days afterstarting treatment, he had a shower and his whole body blew up in a terrible skin rash.Since then, he's been to about 14 different people. You're looking at a guy that's beento about 20 practitioners all up with no resolution. Interesting case. Upon examination of the patient, I had nodoubt in my mind that it's a Candida fungal skin infection of the groin and various partsof the body. I found it interesting that nobody offered Gary any advice regarding his dietand lifestyle. Even the natural practitioners
he went to offered only a small amount ofadvice here. My instruction to Gary was to wash the genitalregion, particularly, twice per day with a good tea tree oil based soap and also to usea watersoluble tea tree oil to wash the private area and to spot treat the tough areas withtea tree oil. This was to be done at least twice per day. I also recommended to Garyto go out and buy about 20 pairs of new cotton boxer shorts and to put on new underwear atleast twice per day. This is very important if you're a guy with a fungal yeast infectionis to maintain very good hygiene. Change your clothing often.
